Learn how to master the unstoppable Raging Tiger build in Nioh 2 using heavy armor and an Axe. This guide will help beginners and mid-game players learn the ins and outs of the build. Our aim is to provide you ample knowledge on skill placements, equipment selection, stats distribution, guardian spirits and soul core recommendations for maximum damage potential while ensuring your playthrough is efficient and enjoyable.
Build Overview:
The Raging Tiger build focuses on dealing whopping damage utilizing strong attacks, buffs and managing health by regaining it in the heat of battle. Alongside, the build ensures low damage intake through its heavy armor ensemble which also prevents character staggering easily. The main aim is to perform almost invincible high-damage combos while healing throughout the combat.
Attributes and Stats:
Key attributes for the Raging Tiger build are Stamina, Courage, Strength, and Constitution. Prioritize Stamina early on especially to get the equipment load below 70% for efficient agility and damage increase. Strength helps in meeting your armor requirements, stronger Ki Pulse, and higher Axe damage. Remaining points are best invested in Courage for boosting damage and improving Ki recovery rate, since this build consumes high amounts of Ki.
Weapon and Armor Choices:
Since Stamina, Strength, and Courage are the main stats for this build, wielding an Axe is ideal. Using heavy armor comes naturally when using an Axe and helps reduce incoming damage. Early on, use any Axe, preferably a Yokai Axe or a lightning-imbued Axe. Later, switch to the Gozutenno’s Axe and finally equip Kintaro’s Axe, which is a part of the Kintaro Set. For ranged weapons, hand cannons and rifles work well in this build.
Early Armor Set:
In the early game, use the Golden Boy Set for increased lightning damage and damage vs. Electrocuted enemies. As you progress, switch to the Samurai From Dark Lands Set and then the Kintaro Set. Optimize armor bonuses for reducing incoming damage, enhancing defense, resistances, and increasing health.
Accessories:
The perfect accessory is rare in Nioh 2, often requiring a mix of bonuses. One of the most useful bonuses is the Enemy Sensor, allowing you to plan ambushes and avoid being caught off guard. Consider accessories that boost Anima gain and defense.
Skills and Talismans:
Important skills include Ki Pulse, Running Water, Rage, Cornered Tiger, Cornered Boar, Purify Yokai Realm, Kintaro Kata, and Full Moon Kata focused on enhancing High Stance. Barrier Talisman and Lightning Talisman are helpful for this build, boosting Ki recovery and lightning damage respectively.
Guardian Spirits and Soul Cores:
Brute Guardian Spirits like Makami and Shin-Roku are ideal for this build. Makami increases final blow damage while Shin-Roku gives life drain on strong attacks and boosts lightning damage. Other useful spirits include Atlas Bear for increased damage, faster winded recovery, and healing on grapple. Suitable Soul Cores for combative advantages are One-Eyed Oni and Onyudo with their abilities to hit repeatedly while dealing damage and applying Electrocuted status effect.
Clans Recommendation:
Two clans suitable for this build are Satake and Todo. Satake emphasizes on high-stance strong attacks and heals you when killing an enemy in melee, while Todo increases life based on Stamina and improves damage based on weight.
