Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard is a short comedy mystery with a small web of character questions, pie pickups, item trades, and one late clue that finally points you to the Invisible Wizard.
This route keeps the story surprises mostly intact. The key idea is simple: talk to everybody, hand pies to Mandy early, and treat each new trade item as the next step in one chain.
Case Overview
The whole mystery is easier if you think of it as four blocks.
First, you arrive in town, decorate the notebook, and meet every resident. The game likes rewarding full conversations, so the opening should be deliberate rather than rushed.
Second, you start the pie task and the money route. The missing-pie hunt is not a separate side activity. It feeds directly into the item-trade chain that gets you enough money to buy Mary’s clue. If the middle of the case feels aimless, it usually means the pie hand-ins or trade sequence is only half finished.
Third, you turn the trade rewards into access. Fresh pie becomes a party hat, the hat becomes a rug, the rug becomes builder tools, the tools become a hook, and the hook opens the way to Susan’s phone.
Fourth, the phone call and glasses clue push the case into its final reveal. From there you only need to find the Invisible Wizard, choose whether to tell the truth or lie, and watch the ending play out.
Keep those four blocks in mind and the whole case becomes much easier to read.
Essential Tips
1. Talk to Everyone Before You Try to Solve Anything
The notebook matters more than it first appears. Early on, your best progress is simply meeting each resident and asking every available question. That fills out profiles, gives the case some shape, and prevents the middle section from feeling like blind item shuffling.
2. Treat the Pies as Main Progress
The lost pies are part of the actual case route. Do not postpone them like optional collectibles. Giving pies to Mandy is what starts the cleaner money-and-trade path that eventually gets you Mary’s clue.
3. Expect the Last Two Pies to Lag Behind
Only some pies are available at first. If you find three and suddenly feel like the last two vanished, that is normal. Hand in the early pies before assuming you missed a hidden trigger somewhere else in town.
4. Use New Trade Items Immediately
Every major item in the middle of the case has an obvious next owner. A fresh pie belongs with Victor, the party hat belongs with Carlos, the rug belongs with Noddy, the builder tools belong with Ralph, and the hook belongs with Susan. The fastest route is almost always to hand the newest item to the next person right away.
5. Build Your Money Before You Visit Mary
Mary is the gatekeeper for the late clue, so it is easy to think you should pay her as soon as you can. Hold for a moment. One optional purchase matters before that hand-off, and the town’s trade chain gives you the rest of your money in a natural order.
6. Use the Magnifying Glass for Flavor and Cleanup
The magnifying glass is mostly a joke tool, but it still fits the detective rhythm. Use it on interesting little details when you have a quiet moment.
7. Save the Final Choice in Your Head
The ending asks you whether to tell the truth or lie about what happened. Decide ahead of time whether this run is your honest run or your lie run. That keeps the last minute clear, especially if you care about cleaning up both ending outcomes later.
Opening Sweep
When the case begins, decorate your notebook and then make a full lap around Warlock Woods before trying to finish any single person’s problem. Your main goal is to register every resident in the notebook and hear enough context to understand how the town is connected.
Talk to Susan, Ralph, Noddy, Victor, Mary, and Carlos. If a conversation has more than one prompt, work through all of them. The notebook works better when you treat every resident like a proper interview instead of a one-line stop.
As you walk, keep an eye out for lost pies. Pick them up whenever you pass one. You do not need a perfect clean sweep on the first lap, but you do want to enter the middle of the case with the pie task already underway.
Victor deserves one extra note. If you try giving him a lost pie, you get one of the game’s joke outcomes tied to that interaction. It is not required for simply finishing the case, but it is an easy thing to do while you are already circling the town.
Once you have a few pies and a full set of introductions, the route becomes much more direct.
Pie and Trade Route
Bring the first three lost pies you find to Mandy. This is the pivot point for the whole case. After the early hand-in, the remaining pies can start appearing, and the town’s progress logic opens up in a much friendlier way.
Go collect the last two pies and return them to Mandy. When the full set is done, Mandy rewards you with a fresh pie. This is where the game stops being a scavenger hunt and becomes a chain of simple one-step trades.
Take the fresh pie to Victor. He trades you a party hat and also helps your money total along. From there:
- Give the party hat to Carlos.
- Take the rug Carlos gives you to Noddy.
- Take the builder tools from Noddy to Ralph.
- Take the hook from Ralph to Susan.
Susan’s trade matters for two reasons. It gives you more money, and it opens the way into her house. That house access is important because the phone inside becomes the next major clue step once Mary has been paid.
There is one optional detour you should handle before paying Mary. When you have at least three money, talk to Carlos and buy the picture. This is the clean time to do it. The game treats that little purchase as more than a throwaway joke, so doing it early keeps the notebook side of the run tidy.
After that, continue the main route and make sure your money total reaches five. Now you are finally ready for Mary. Pay her the five money and receive the mysterious phone number.
At this point, the case suddenly accelerates, but the middle section has been building toward this one useful phone call.
Finding the Invisible Wizard
Head into Susan’s house and use the phone with the mysterious number. The call connects you to Barney and confirms that the case has shifted from general parade damage to one very specific lead. When the call ends, do not stand around wondering whether the next clue is hidden in dialogue. Go back outside and check the town entrance path.
You are looking for a pair of glasses on the ground near a lamppost along that entrance area. Pick them up. This is the clue that finally cuts through the town gossip and points you toward the person at the center of the case.
Now head to the house between Carlos’s shop and Victor’s place. Inside, the Invisible Wizard is hiding among the boxes. Follow the chase as she teleports away from you. After the third move, the back route opens. Take the newly opened way downstairs and keep moving until you find the Wizard cornered in the lower area.
Talk to her and finish the conversation. This resolves the mystery itself, but you still have one final decision to make when you return to the rest of the town.
At the accusation moment, choose whether Frog Detective tells the truth or covers the Wizard with a lie about Evil Guy. Both choices finish the story.
If your only goal is to see credits, pick the answer you want and enjoy the parade. If you are cleaning up completion later, remember that the final choice is the fork you will revisit.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stop after meeting only one or two residents - The notebook and later clue flow work better when the whole town has been introduced early.
- Do not treat the pie quest like optional cleanup - It is the spine of the middle section.
- Do not panic when only three pies appear at first - Turn those in before hunting endlessly for the last two.
- Do not sit on trade items - Each reward points at the next resident almost immediately.
- Do not pay Mary before handling the three-money picture purchase - The cleaner notebook route wants that detour first.
- Do not forget Susan’s house after getting the phone number - The call there is the trigger for the final clue sequence.
- Do not search the whole town after the phone call - Go to the entrance path and pick up the glasses.
- Do not overthink the final choice - It only decides which ending outcome you see on that run.
