1. Confirm Which Version You Are Launching
Premium, Legacy, Enhanced, and standalone GTA Online can point to different flows.
Premium Online Edition was a bundle for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Current PC storefronts may show GTAV Legacy and GTAV Enhanced instead. Before claiming items or migrating a character, check the launcher/store label and make sure you know whether you are in Legacy, Enhanced, Story Mode, or GTA Online.
2. Treat Story Mode and GTA Online Separately
The bundle includes both, but the starter pack is Online-only.
GTAV Story Mode is the single-player campaign with three protagonists. GTA Online is the shared Online mode with jobs, sessions, properties, vehicles, rank, and changing updates. Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack items do not turn into Story Mode resources.
3. Claim Starter-Pack Benefits Before Migrating
Do not move a character first and ask questions later.
Rockstar’s support flow says Enhanced access to Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack benefits depends on a character claiming those benefits in GTAV Legacy and then migrating. If you own the bundle on a Legacy platform and plan to move to Enhanced/current-gen, claim first, confirm the character has access, then migrate only when you are ready.
4. Use the Online Pause Menu and In-Game Stores
Starter-pack items are claimed through GTA Online menus, not your real storefront library.
Look for the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack section in the Online pause menu, then follow its links or use the in-game phone. Properties, vehicles, weapons, clothing, and cosmetics are claimed from the relevant in-game sites or shops when marked free.
5. Wait for Bonus Cash to Arrive
Do not build a spending plan around money that has not posted yet.
Rockstar Support says the included GTA$ bonus can take several days to reach your in-game Maze Bank account. Start learning, claim the no-cost items you can see, and postpone big purchases until your balance actually reflects the bonus.
6. Use the Tutorial or Career Builder That Matches Your Version
Legacy and Enhanced start differently.
If you are starting in older GTA Online, complete the tutorial so the game teaches driving, combat, shopping, missions, and multiplayer basics. If you are starting in Enhanced on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC Enhanced, Career Builder is a different one-time onboarding system and should not be confused with Premium Edition’s starter pack.

10. Spend Early Money on Utility

Before buying cosmetic flex items, make sure you have useful transport, basic weapons, armor/snack habits, and a property or business path you understand. The starter pack gives a head start, but it does not remove the need to choose purchases carefully.
11. Bank Cash and Carry Supplies
Small habits prevent annoying losses.
Deposit cash regularly, keep armor and snacks available when your rank/version allows, and enter jobs with enough ammo for normal mistakes. GTA Online is much smoother when you are not restocking after every failed attempt.
