1. Treat Turn() as a Plan, Not a Panic Button

Turn() is strongest when you already know what happens after the plan executes.

Use it to line up movement, attacks, and follow-up positioning. If you spend the whole plan chasing one enemy and finish in danger, the recovery window can be worse than the fight you paused.

2. Keep a Real-Time Answer Ready

Combat continues after Turn(), so your loadout needs something that works while you recover.

A safe first-run setup should include at least one way to reposition, interrupt, or survive outside a full Turn() burst. The exact Function can change, but the job should not be missing.

3. Check Every Access Point Before Moving On

Access Points are where you fix problems before the next fight exposes them.

Use them to review Functions, adjust active and passive choices, manage Limiters, and recover from overloaded Function pressure. If the last fight felt awkward, change the setup before testing the same mistake again.

4. Learn the Three Function Slot Roles

The same Function can mean different things depending on where you install it.

Active slots give you usable powers, upgrade slots modify active powers, and passive slots add broad effects. Before chasing advanced combos, test a Function in more than one role so you understand what you are giving up.

5. Watch MEM Before You Overcommit

A powerful loadout that collapses after one overload can be a trap.

Functions use MEM, and losing health can overload an installed Function. Keep enough redundancy that one disabled piece does not leave you with no comfortable way to fight, escape, or collect Cells.

Ask what the loadout does before asking whether it looks clever.

A stable beginner setup usually needs damage, movement, control, and recovery coverage. Developer-sourced build examples support several archetypes, so do not treat one exact combo as the only correct answer.

Jaunt() is useful early as a way out of bad positions. Once you are comfortable with Turn() recovery, test it as an upgrade and compare whether that version solves more problems for your current setup.

A defeated enemy can still waste your work if its Cell returns.

When a fight creates Cells, make time to collect or destroy them before the Process regains momentum. Do not spend the entire Turn() plan on damage if cleanup is the action that actually secures the room.

Limiters are optional pressure for extra experience, not required proof that you understand a fight.

Turn on one when the current route feels controlled, then play enough encounters to understand what changed. If multiple Limiters make the next fight unreadable, remove some at an Access Point.

There is no value in practicing a fight under rules you are not ready to read.

If a boss or late encounter keeps taking Functions offline, reduce optional difficulty and solve the base fight first. You can bring Limiters back after the room’s hazards, support enemies, and recovery windows are clearer.

11. Save Recursion Pressure for After the Story

Postgame systems make more sense once the Function vocabulary is familiar.

Steam lists Recursion as an option after finishing the story. Treat the first clear as the learning route, then use Recursion and advanced builds when you know which slot roles and recovery tools you prefer.

12. Experiment on Purpose

Transistor rewards testing, but random reshuffling makes lessons hard to read.

Change one or two parts of a loadout, play a few fights, then decide what improved. If you rebuild every slot at once, you may not know whether the active Function, upgrade, passive, MEM cost, or Limiter choice caused the result.
