KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is a Square Enix-developed and published compilation of six KINGDOM HEARTS experiences. It is the starting collection, not the whole modern saga, and it mixes four playable entries with two HD cinematic compilations.
This is a spoiler-light collection guide. It is not a boss guide, build guide, synthesis route, Gummi Ship route, trophy roadmap, collectible checklist, or full story explainer.
Version Scope

| 2.5 content | KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX, Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX, and Re:coded as HD remastered cinematics |

| Future versions | Square Enix lists new October 8, 2026 platform releases; check the exact storefront before buying |
Before You Start
Know What You Bought
This collection is the foundation, not the finish line.
Start here if you are new, but do not expect 2.8, KINGDOM HEARTS III, or Re Mind to appear inside this launcher unless you bought a larger bundle. Steam’s Integrum Masterpiece and Square Enix’s Collection [I~III] framing bundle those later products with 1.5 + 2.5, while the individual 1.5 + 2.5 package contains only the six entries listed above.
Treat 1.5 and 2.5 as Separate Halves
The title is one product, but the halves explain the menu.
The 1.5 side gives you KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, Re:Chain of Memories, and the 358/2 Days movie. The 2.5 side gives you KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX, Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX, and the Re:coded movie. That split is why the package can feel less linear than a normal trilogy.
Use a Spoiler-Light First Path
Begin with KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, then Re:Chain of Memories.
After that, the common first-timer question is whether to watch 358/2 Days before or after KINGDOM HEARTS II. Official storefront orders are not perfectly consistent, and community guidance commonly recommends KINGDOM HEARTS II before the Days movie for a first run. Until this has a dedicated story-order guide, the safest habit is simple: do not read plot summaries, do not browse character pages, and keep the Days/KH2 choice deliberate rather than accidental.
Remember Which Entries Are Movies
358/2 Days and Re:coded are not the original DS games in playable form.
Watch them when you want story context, but do not set aside time expecting full DS mission systems, panels, or combat campaigns. If your goal is to play the original DS versions, this collection is not that route.
Essential Tips
1. Reset Your Habits Between Games
The bundle changes rules more than it changes branding.
KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, Re:Chain of Memories, KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX, and Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX all sit under the same collection title, but they do not play the same way. Recheck controls, camera, difficulty, shortcuts, save behavior, and menu options every time you start a new entry.
2. Put Magic and Items on Shortcuts Early
Shortcuts keep combat from turning into menu panic.
The Command Menu games let you set key actions to shortcuts. Use that system before the game gets busy. Keep healing and a frequently used spell or item easy to reach, then revise the setup when a new game changes what shortcuts can hold.
3. Read Re:Chain as a Card Game First
Mashing attack is the wrong lesson for Re:Chain of Memories.
Cards control attacks, magic, items, room creation, and enemy interruptions. Watch card values, reload timing, and deck limits instead of trying to force the first game’s combat rhythm onto it. A clean, understandable deck is better for a first clear than a pile of flashy cards you cannot reload or afford.
4. Let KINGDOM HEARTS II Teach Its Own Tempo
KHII is faster, but it still rewards preparation.
Reaction Commands, forms, party actions, shortcuts, and movement options can make fights feel more responsive than the first game. Do not confuse that speed with permission to ignore menus. Check abilities and shortcuts after major unlocks, then practice new tools in normal encounters before relying on them in harder fights.
5. Maintain Birth by Sleep’s Command Deck
Birth by Sleep is built around equipped commands and cooldowns.
Attack, magic, item, and movement commands live in deck slots and cycle through cooldowns. Review the deck regularly, level commands naturally through use, and keep at least one defensive or recovery option visible enough that you can reach it under pressure.
6. Save Before Long Movie Sessions
The cinematic entries still deserve session planning.
358/2 Days and Re:coded are story-viewing commitments rather than quick menu extras. Start them when you can pay attention, and stop between chunks instead of treating them as background noise. Their value is context, not mechanical practice.
7. Separate Buying Advice From Play Advice
The same title can mean different platform realities.
On Steam, note the Japanese/International version save-data separation. On PlayStation, the current store page is a PS4 product playable on PS5 with a backward-compatibility caveat. On Xbox, the store page lists Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Cloud Gaming support with purchase required for cloud play. On Switch, cloud versions are a sunset product for existing owners, while new versions need a fresh storefront check.
8. Do Not Chase Completion on the First Pass
This package is too broad for blind 100 percent cleanup.
Exact trophies, synthesis, secret endings, Gummi Ship tasks, superbosses, command melds, card decks, and collectibles are better handled with dedicated routes. For a first run, learn each entry’s basic menu language, finish the main experience, and leave completion cleanup for a dedicated checklist.
Platform Notes
| Platform | Practical Beginner Note |

| Epic PC | Check the current listing details before buying |
| PlayStation | Check whether you are buying the PS4 product or a newer native listing |
| Xbox | Current store page lists Xbox One, Xbox Series X |
| Nintendo Switch Cloud | Delisted from sale on June 9, 2026 and playable for owners until June 9, 2027 according to Square Enix Support |
| Nintendo Switch / Switch 2 | New versions and Collection [I~III] framing need a current storefront check because October 8, 2026 releases were announced after the cloud shutdown notice |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
-
Do not play Re:Chain like KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX - Watch card values, deck reloads, and room cards instead of only chasing action timing.
-
Do not leave healing buried in the command menu - Set useful shortcuts before fights become crowded.
-
Do not keep old shortcuts forever - Revisit them after new spells, items, commands, forms, or deck options unlock.
-
Do not ignore Birth by Sleep cooldowns - A deck full of powerful commands can still leave you waiting if everything is recharging.
-
Do not skip ability menus after major unlocks - Newly available movement, defense, and utility options can change how safe normal exploration feels.
-
Do not mash through cinematic entries while distracted - They are story context, so watch them when you can follow names and events.
-
Do not skip save points before changing menus - Save before experimenting with abilities, decks, commands, or long cinematic sessions.
