Pokémon Scarlet, developed by GAME FREAK with Nintendo as publisher, sends you through Paldea with Koraidon, Naranja Academy, and three story paths that can be mixed. Paldea does not quietly adjust every objective to your level, so a strong first run is built around scouting, changing direction, and learning new systems before a Gym, Titan, Team Star base, or raid forces the issue.

1. Reach the Treasure Hunt Before Wandering

Finish the opening sequence at Naranja Academy first.

Start exploring after the academy, Koraidon, Terastallizing, and the Treasure Hunt are active.

2. Rotate Between All Three Stories

Victory Road, Path of Legends, and Starfall Street reward different progress.

Gyms push Champion Rank, Titans restore Koraidon’s travel abilities, and Team Star bases test Auto Battles. Choose the next manageable objective instead of forcing one storyline.

3. Leave When the World Jumps in Difficulty

Open world does not mean level-scaled world.

If nearby wild Pokémon, Trainers, or a marked objective overwhelm your party, turn around and return later.

4. Activate Pokémon Centers as You Travel

Every discovered Center improves your route.

Stop at Centers even when healthy. They unlock fast travel, heal the team, recharge the Tera Orb, provide TM Machine access, and track local Trainer rewards.

5. Mix in Path of Legends Progress

Koraidon’s movement upgrades make the whole map easier.

Titan progress improves traversal. Ignoring Path of Legends makes later exploration slower.

6. Use Let’s Go for Routine Work

Auto Battles are useful, but they are not full training.

Your lead Pokémon can pick up items and Auto Battle nearby wild Pokémon. Those wins give experience and materials, but not EVs. Use normal battles for catches, evolutions, and deliberate training.

7. Check the Tera Type Before Activating

Terastallizing is a matchup decision.

Every Pokémon has a Tera Type. Activating it changes that Pokémon to the Tera Type and can strengthen matching moves. Spend it when the shift improves offense, defense, or both.

8. Treat Fainting as a Raid-Team Cost

Tera Raids are won against a shared timer.

When your Pokémon faints, it returns after a delay and the team loses time. A sturdy Pokémon or timely cheer can help more than a fragile attacker.

Terastallizing is available once per battle while the Tera Orb is charged. Outside raids, using it empties the Orb until you visit a Pokémon Center or Terastal-energy crystal.

Ask three questions first:

2. Match the sandwich to the activity you are about to do.
3. Wash or feed the party when you need recovery in the field.
4. Save rare ingredients for a known plan.
5. Treat breeding, shiny hunting, and optimized recipes as separate projects.

Survive Tera Raids Before Chasing Damage

A raid lobby shows the boss silhouette, Tera Type, and star difficulty. Each Trainer brings one Pokémon; NPC allies can fill empty slots.

Use this raid checklist:

1. Choose for the displayed Tera Type, but remember the species still matters.
2. Prefer survival over a fragile one-hit plan.
3. Watch the timer, not only the boss HP.
4. Use cheers when they prevent fainting or stabilize the group.
5. Remember each player has only three cheers.
6. Treat event raids as separate fights that need fresh boss-specific planning.

The raid does not wait for every participant. Stay attentive and support the team when needed.

Online, Switch 2, and DLC Boundaries

4. Using Let’s Go for every training goal - Auto Battles are convenient, but they do not replace catching, EV training, or evolution control.

5. Terastallizing before checking the Tera Type - The wrong type shift can create a worse defensive matchup.

6. Entering raids with only damage in mind - Repeated fainting drains the timer faster than careful support would.

7. Spending rare sandwich ingredients casually - Meal Powers are most useful when matched to a specific activity.
