Astro Bot by Team Asobi is a PlayStation 5 platformer about rescuing Astro’s scattered crew, collecting Puzzle Pieces, opening Crash Site facilities, and using coins in the Gatcha Lab. The clean route is to treat bot rescue, Puzzle Pieces, secret exits, and coins as one completion loop instead of separate chores.
This guide covers the base completion route: 300 Bots, 120 Puzzle Pieces, 10 Lost Galaxy exits, and the 150 Gatcha items PowerPyx lists for the base trophy route. Post-launch speedrun, Winter Wonder, and Vicious Void content can add more Special Bots and trophies, so those sections are tracked as patch-sensitive cleanup rather than folded into the base count.
Difficulty note: the base trophy route is approachable, but official post-game speedrun and Vicious Void updates are explicitly built to test platforming skill. Treat the main route as beginner-friendly and the DLC challenge cleanup as a separate skill pass.

Use the table as a base-route scaffold, not a final current counter. The 300/120/10 numbers are supported for the base completion path; later updates and imported Astro’s Playroom bots should be matched against your installed version before making an all-content checklist.
Base Route Priorities
1. Collect Bots and Puzzle Pieces Together
Do not play a level as only a bot rescue.
Every normal route should look for both stranded Bots and Puzzle Pieces before you leave. The level select/hover UI tracks missing collectibles, and replay is available, so finish the level, note what is missing, and return with a specific target instead of restarting blindly.
2. Use Crash Site as the Cleanup Hub
Puzzle Pieces and rescued Bots both feed hub progress.
Puzzle Pieces unlock Crash Site facilities and rescued Bots can combine for group actions that open more hub paths. Return to Crash Site regularly, spend new unlocks, and check whether a group-action prompt now has enough Bots.
3. Search the Obvious Detours Before the Finish
Astro Bot repeats its collectible language.
Before crossing a clear point of no return, check side platforms, suspicious rails, destructible objects, odd enemy setups, tucked-away ledges, coin trails, and power-up-specific routes. If a power-up changes Astro’s size, reach, armor, speed, or movement angle, assume at least one collectible path is testing that move.
4. Track Lost Galaxy Exits Separately
Secret exits are part of 100%, not bonus trivia.
The base route includes 10 Lost Galaxy exits. If a level shows a wormhole/secret-exit marker or a guide marks it as a Lost Galaxy route, keep that on a separate checklist from ordinary Bots and Puzzle Pieces. Missing these can leave whole levels out of your cleanup plan.
5. Save Coin Spending for Useful Cleanup
Coins are completion fuel.
You need coins for Gatcha Lab items, and the base trophy route includes 150 required Gatcha items. A collectible satellite can help mark missed items, but buying too many assists early can add coin cleanup later.
Galaxy and Hub Cleanup
Use this order for a spoiler-light 100% planning pass:
| Phase | Cleanup Goal |
|---|---|
| First clear | Play through planets normally, rescuing visible Bots and collecting visible Puzzle Pieces. |
| Galaxy sweep | Revisit levels with missing counters and look for secret exits, side planets, and challenge routes. |
| Crash Site pass | Spend Puzzle Pieces on facilities and use rescued Bots for group actions. |
| Lost Galaxy pass | Clear unlocked Lost Galaxy levels and check their smaller collectible sets. |
| Gatcha pass | Spend coins until the trophy-relevant item pool is handled. |
| Final base challenge | After all 120 Puzzle Pieces and 300 Bots are handled, check the Great Master Challenge route and reward in-game. |
Push Square’s current guide hub groups the game into Crash Site, Gorilla Nebula, Tentacle System, Serpent Starway, Camo Cosmos, Feather Cluster, Lost Galaxy, Deja Vu Dimension, Stellar Speedway, Vicious Void, and Winter Wonder. Treat Stellar Speedway, Vicious Void, and Winter Wonder as post-game/update content until you know they are installed.
Gatcha Lab and Coins
Gatcha Lab is more than a cosmetic stop. The official PlayStation page says VIP bot items come from coins spent in the Gatcha Lab, and the base trophy route requires 150 Gatcha items.
Work in passes:
- Collect coins while sweeping levels - Defeat enemies, follow coin trails, and grab coins near collectible detours.
- Spend after major cleanup chunks - Do not leave the entire Gatcha pool for the end if you already have coins to use.
- Keep assist spending deliberate - Buy collectible help when you are stuck, not as a default for every replay.
- Return to VIP bots after Gatcha pulls - Some items unlock special actions from the games those bots reference.
The exact fastest coin farm can vary by run and version. Until then, the safe advice is to complete collectible routes thoroughly and replay comfortable levels only if the Gatcha Lab still needs coins.
Post-Game DLC Cleanup
Keep DLC cleanup on a separate tracker from the base 300/120/10 route.
| Content | Current State | Player Caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Astro’s Playroom imports | Four Special Bots can transfer into Astro Bot as starting crew after rescue in Astro’s Playroom. | Optional and external to the base Astro Bot route; check current import behavior. |
| Stellar Speedway / speedruns | Five post-game speedrun levels released from October to November 2024, each with two Special Bots and online leaderboard framing. | Check current leaderboard availability, bot count, and trophies. |
| Winter Wonder | Free post-game festive level with brand-new Special Bots. | Check current access, rewards, and bot counter impact. |
| Vicious Void, first wave | Five harder post-game challenge levels from February to March 2025, each with a Special Bot, Time Attack, and online rankings after rescue. | Check current PSN/add-on trophy split and difficulty notes. |
| Vicious Void, July 2025 wave | Official June 2025 post announced five more levels; Push Square’s July 2025 guide lists Twin-Frog Trouble, Suck It Up, Handhold Havoc, High Inflation, and Megamix Mastery. | Check installed patch and current all-content level list. |
| PS5 Pro update | Official February 2025 post says PS5 Pro gets constant best resolution while still running at 60 fps. | Check current console setting/output wording before adding platform advice. |
The practical route is simple: finish the base game first, then clear post-game levels by content group. Do not mix DLC Special Bots into the base 300-bot plan unless you are writing a current all-content checklist with the latest in-game counter.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
-
Do not treat the 300-bot base route as the current all-content counter - imports and updates can raise the visible total.
-
Do not ignore Puzzle Pieces until the end - they unlock Crash Site facilities and help structure cleanup.
-
Do not spend coins casually before the Gatcha Lab is handled - trophy-route cleanup needs a large number of Gatcha pulls.
-
Do not skip secret exits - Lost Galaxy exits are part of the 100% path and can hide whole levels.
-
Do not assume every post-game level has the same difficulty - official materials separate speedrun levels, festive Winter Wonder content, and harder Vicious Void challenge stages.
-
Do not rely on Store prices or edition contents from memory - PlayStation Store pricing and regional availability can change.
-
Do not rely on trophy counts without checking PSN - base trophies, add-on trophies, and DLC levels can change.
-
Do not force DualSense features if accessibility settings are needed - the Store page says haptics, adaptive trigger resistance, and touch controls can be disabled.
